“Hi Tracey,
Last weekend my niece Merryn (age 7) and I made our snail stepping stone. We thought we’d send you some pictures of how it turned out!
Merryn particularly enjoyed bashing the tiles with a hammer (wearing her sunglasses as my goggles are way too big), choosing and laying out the pieces and stirring the concrete in a bucket wearing her gloves. We are really pleased with it.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow and the sticky back plastic is a good idea. We left it on until after we’d tamped the mortar and found it kept the pieces together well – in fact once the water came out of the concrete the sticky came off and it was easy to lift up without disturbing anything.
Merryn is keen to make another one – she says blue fishes or a penguin. So we might be needing to order some more refill concrete and some “random” tile colours to go with our mould soon.

“Hi Tracey
We made the stepping stones last weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves having completed the task as a family activity. After much deliberation, we decided to create a design that mirrored the rising sun theme on the privacy panels we erected at the end of the paving. Each stone has the same design but uses the different coloured tiles to add colour and interest! It worked a treat and we’re thrilled with the result. There was even enough cement etc to make an extra, smaller stepping stone that Emily designed herself and also looks terrific!
Today, we set them into the pavers and I’ve attached a photo for your interest. Thanks again for the fantastic gesture of personally delivering the kits! I think we’re all converts and will make more in the future whenever we need a truly personal gift…
Best wishes”Rosie (Pete & Emily) Brown, London.
Hi Tracey,
I just wanted to let you know what a fantastic day we had making the mosaics. It was a very special occasion for our children – we’d picked out children who had had personal contact with Sam – because it was important for them to be involved.
Everybody enjoyed taking part and the kids – who are not the easiest kids to keep focussed because of their individual difficult circumstances – were fully engaged with the process and really got a lot out of it. We were so impressed by the kits – they were beautiful and the instructions were really friendly and easy to follow. Thank you so much. We will send you a photograph of the finished garden, which we think will be a very fitting memorial tribute for Sam.”

“Hi Tracey,
I ordered a few stepping stone kits for children of my family and friends for Christmas. Everyone’s reactions were delightful. The parents all thought I was inspired in my choice of present and, I would say were as pleased with the prospect of building and creating the finished product as much as the children were. I think they will provide a lovely craft activity for families to take part in and I very much look forward to creating ours with my 2 children. Thanks Tracey for providing such an ideal gift at just the right price.”
